Install Meeting Recorder

A ten-minute setup for Windows + Chrome. Two pieces install together โ€” the desktop agent that records and transcribes your calls, and the Chrome extension that spots meetings and posts the recording notice.

Before you start: get the installer โ€” MeetingRecorderSetup.exe โ€” from IT / the shared drive. It already has your team's settings baked in; there is nothing to type or configure. Have Chrome installed and be signed into it.

Part 1 โ€” First install

1

Run the installer

Double-click MeetingRecorderSetup.exe and click through it. There is no admin prompt (UAC) and nothing to choose โ€” it installs the desktop agent and drops the Chrome extension's files onto your PC, ready for the next step.

When it finishes, the Meeting Recorder is running in your system tray (bottom-right, near the clock). Leave it running.

The wizard runs itself โ€” click Next through to Finish. The recorder is now live in your system tray.
2

Add the extension to Chrome

In Chrome, click the address bar, type chrome://extensions and press Enter. Then โ‘  turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle), and โ‘ก click Load unpacked.

Browse to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\MeetingRecorder\extension and click Select Folder. Sales Meeting Recorder now appears in your extensions list.
3

Pin it to the toolbar

Open the puzzle-piece menu at the top-right of Chrome, find Sales Meeting Recorder, and click the pin so its icon stays on the toolbar where you can reach it.

4

Sign in with your Synology account

Click the pinned Meeting Recorder icon to open it, then click “Sign in with your Synology account.” A Google window opens โ€” choose your @synologyamerica.com account and allow access. This is what lets the recorder match your calls to your calendar invites (who's attending, and the meeting title).

When it finishes, the popup reads “signed in as you@synologyamerica.com.” Use your work @synologyamerica.com account โ€” not a personal Google login.

5

You're set

Your Salesforce identity is picked up automatically from your Salesforce session โ€” nothing else to configure. Join your next meeting and the recorder takes over from there.

Depending on your setting, it will either start recording automatically or ask you first.

Part 2 โ€” Updating later

โœ“ Automatic

The desktop app

Updates itself. The agent checks in daily and updates in the background, keeping all your settings. Nothing for you to do.

After it updates, just close and reopen the Meetings window so it shows the new version.

The Chrome extension

During this early rollout the extension does not update on its own. When IT sends a new version:

  1. Re-run the latest MeetingRecorderSetup.exe.
  2. Go to chrome://extensions and click reload โ†ป on the Sales Meeting Recorder card.
